Virtual Marine FRB Simulators

Virtual Marine's Fast Rescue Boat (FRB) Simulator is designed to train coxswains in high-speed maneuvering and rescue operations. The FRB is an application of our multi-purpose desktop simulator that allows for all elements of FRB operation, from launch to recovery. 

Based on our modular Quest desktop simulator, the FRB includes a combination of real hardware controls combined with virtual reality and standard display visual systems. The simulators can either operate autonomously using our proven Advanced Coxswain Training (ACT) curriculum, or through instructor-led scenarios made possible with the addition of a networked instructor station. Both delivery approaches offer a high degree of realism, validated by real-mission data and user experiences. 

Field tested in the rigorous offshore oil and gas environment, the desktop FRB simulator incorporates high quality real world marine components to provide for a high fidelity simulation experience. The desktop system conveniently packs into robust flight cases making it highly portable and safe to ship for training in remote locations.

Simulation Scenarios

Simulation scenarios incorporate time of day and a range of weather conditions, testing operators’ navigation and pilotage skills. Simulation scenarios also offer graduated levels of complexity across a range of SAR, security and interdiction missions. Choose from our existing curriculum library or have us design a customized solution based on your FRB or launch vessel.
