STCW REF-FRB Refresher Training Course
OBJECTIVE
The aim of the course is to refresh the seafarers’ skills in the operation of Fast Rescue Boats/Craft augmented with FRB Simulator recognized and approved by Transport Canada
Comply with Chapter VI, Section A-VI/2, paragraph 11 of the STCW Convention requirement to show evidence that standard competence to undertake the tasks, duties, and responsibilities listed in column 1 of table A-VI/2-2 of the Convention, including the 2010 Manilla Amendments are maintained every 5 years.

Our simulation-based practical training exercises include:
FRB handling, including launching and recovery
FRB maneuvering in various sea states and conditions, including high speed and low speed
Pacing and towing with other craft, including other survival craft
FRB capsize and righting
Search and Rescue, including PIW recovery

4 hours of lecture
3 hours of simulation exercises
2 hours of practical exercises + exam
